Case Study – B2B Aviation Website Redesign

Reed Business International is a large publishing services organisation, and has a number of niche B2B websites. This particular project involved a website catering to the aviation industry. The website was being redesigned, and was having a number of new features introduced which would provide relevant data about the aviation industry to clients.

The remit for the project included:

  • Writing scripts for manual testing, functional testing, regression testing, and Operational Acceptance Testing based on requirements and Acceptance Criteria in User Stories, and identification of gaps in them.
  • Creation and insertion of test data to the database using SQL, and modification of the test data to test different business and user scenarios.
  • Validating that end-to-end processes were behaving as expected.
  • Testing that page load times met business requirements.
  • Deployment of new code releases into the test environment using Team City Continuous Integration tool.
  • Raising defect reports with screen shots and instructions for how to reproduce the issue, and demonstration of the defects to the relevant developer, chasing defects where necessary to ensure that the fixes could be tested within the sprint, ensuring that sprint commitments were kept.
